Director Statement

Inspired by personal experience, I can hear my footsteps was shot in quarantine during the lockdown in Cyprus.

When I went for a walk with my dog at 9.30 in the evening, during the curfew night hours in March 2020, I was intrigued by the quietness of the streets. No cars, no people. The sound of "nothing" was so loud that the sound of my footsteps were almost deafening. This feeling made me shiver. At the same time, life at home continued as usual, and this was evident from the people's voices and the sounds of the television sets heard from the neighbouring houses.
